Top 10 wedding venues in India

A wedding is said to be a girls first day of the rest of her life.  Yes, I quoted Bride Wars and rightly so, because even if a girl might not admit it, she does want a grand, beautiful wedding. Every girl wants a wedding that she will live and remember for the rest of her life. So, I compiled a list of the top 10 wedding venues in India, to help you plan your perfect wedding.
1

Jag Mandir Palace - Udaipur:
Nothing spells wonderful than a lavish wedding in a palace; a palace by a quaint lake, with a history that will bring goose bumps to your skin. Now wouldn’t that be a good wedding story to tell your grandchildren? The Jag Mandir Palace in Udaipur promises that and more. Situated by Lake Pichola, this opulent structure will take your breath away and make you feel like a queen. A little extravagant maybe, but hey, a wedding is a one time affair, isn’t it?

Alila Diwa – Goa:
If you’re the kind of woman whose idea of a perfect wedding is an after-wedding party on the beach, with delicious fenny and scrumptious lobster, then the Alila Diwa in Goa is just right for you. This hotel is situated in the charming little village of Majorda and is surrounded by greenery so pristine, it will bring tears to your eyes. The name itself rolls beautifully over the tongue, and promises you a wedding no one will ever forget.

Grand Maratha Sheraton – Mumbai:

Oh, you definitely want to get married here! This glitzy venue is for the glamorous bride who knows what she wants and just how to get it. Placed in the middle of a bustling city, your wedding won’t get any racier than this. A true-blue Bombay girl, with a high-end, exciting job, who wants a sensational wedding but has very little time and patience for it, should absolutely check out the uber swanky Grand Maratha Sheraton.

Club Mahindra Backwater Retreat – Kerala:
A great setting for the low key couple, who wants a small but romantic wedding, should surely check out this wonderful place. Dainty chalets surrounded by the sparkling backwaters of Kerala, it isn’t hard to imagine this venue all decked up in pretty lights, beckoning genuine praise. This venue promises a starry-eyed wedding for the starry-eyed bride. Enjoy the tranquillity of the place and it’s virtually untouched horizons, as a young bride deserves nothing but the best.

                                                                                                 The Radisson Hotel – Khajuraho:
What better place to have your dream wedding at than at the land of erotica? Located just a little distance away from the splendid Khajuraho temples that are unabashedly carnal, this venue is perfect for the sexy and passionate couple who just can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Beautifully manicured lawns and a cerulean swimming pool beckon the newly-weds, who would definitely want to start off their married life right there at The Radisson.

Claridges Corbett Hideaway – Nainital:
Did you know that you could get married in a jungle? Apparently, you can! This will come as good news for the adventurous bride whose ideal wedding would be deep in a forest filled with wild animal sounds and luxuriant greenery. The Claridges Corbett Hideaway situated in the densely forested Corbett National Park is the right venue for you if you love nature and want to get away from the hustle-bustle of daily city life. Plus, an exciting wildlife safari will follow your very adventurous jungle wedding! Not a bad way to start off a marriage, right?

Bangaram Beach Resort – Lakshadweep Island
Situated right off the south-west Indian coast is the Bangaram Beach Resort, a picturesque little hotel resort that will quench your desire for a private, dreamy wedding. Get married right on the beach, like you always dreamed of since you were a little girl! Delicately touched by the light sea-breeze, this venue re-defines beach weddings for the better. If you are a sucker for a beach wedding like most girls, then go all out and start planning one at this perky venue!

            The Stallone Manor – Ludhiana:
Have you always dreamed of a fabulous and flashy Punjabi wedding? Say no more, as your dream can come true at the Stallone Manor in Ludhiana. Showing off an extensive lawn area and an out-of-the-world super structure, this venue is nothing short of breathtaking. Be it sangeet, mehendi, nuptials or the reception, this place shows all signs of a robust Punjabi wedding site. So what are you waiting for? Go, get your freak on, Punjabi style!

Dakshineswar Temple – West Bengal:
Nothing means more to a pious Indian couple than a simple but beautiful temple wedding. Though many temples in India perform wedding rituals, the Dakshineswar Kali temple in West Bengal caught my eye for its sheer magnificence and allure. Call it the power of Kali or the old-world charm of Kolkata, this beatific temple situated on the banks of the Hooghly River is just the right place for a quiet but sacrosanct wedding.

Hotel Amarvilas – Agra:
Who wouldn’t want to get married in a place where the symbol of a forever after kind of love, the Taj Mahal resides? The Oberoi Amarvilas offers a very regal, Mughal perspective on all things romantic as the hotel itself is majestic, and affords a view of the Taj Mahal. Beautifully conjured structures and colours give way to a wedding that can only be dreamed about. If you are a hopeless romantic and would want nothing short of a magical wedding, this venue is just right for you.

So, listed above are the venues I personally adored and thought why not? Let's let other women know about these venues too, so that they could get their dreams of a magical wedding come true! Hope this list helps, and even if you're not looking to get married, I do hope you enjoy this piece.
